A WINNING PATH TO CORPORATE VIDEO PRODUCTION. ON TARGET. ON TIME. ON BUDGET.
Sugar Media Inc. begins every project with a thorough discovery and briefing meeting with all stakeholders to develop a clear understanding of the project and goals. From this, a detailed scope of work and budget are created, taking into account all production costs from start to final delivery of your corporate video production project.
Once agreed upon, the corporate video production project scope and budget are locked, and production begins. Next, a complete production schedule is created in consultation with the client, detailing all production steps and key approval dates for scripts, music, casting and post-production.
Working closely with clients, we ensure flexibility throughout the corporate video production process as we know changes to scope can happen, even after this point. If that’s the case, Sugar Media Inc. generates a budget alert detailing the change to scope and related costs and approval is obtained from the client before we proceed with the change.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below are answers to the questions we’re most often asked by clients considering a video production project.
What is Sugar Media Inc.?
Sugar Media Inc. is a professional video production company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The company started as Fawn Fairfoul Productions in October 2001 and changed its name to Sugar Media before incorporating in 2009. We work with businesses, organizations, agencies, and brands looking for professional video production services.
Where is Sugar Media Inc. located?
Sugar Media Inc. is located at 80 Maclean Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Canada but we have travelled the world for productions.
Do you do work outside of Toronto?
We love location work. While we are Toronto-based, we often work on projects outside the city, province and country. In fact, we have extensive experience producing corporate videos for clients across Canada, in the US, and beyond. We also have trusted local crew in many cities around the world, which can make filming in other cities much more reasonable.
How much does a video cost?
Corporate video production costs vary depending on the type of video, number of filming days, crew size, locations, scripting, animation, talent, editing complexity, music, captions, language versioning and final deliverables. Once we understand your goals, audience, timeline, and scope, we can provide a clear estimate or proposal. Often a short 30-minute briefing call can give us enough information to provide you with a quote.
What information do you need to provide a quote?
We can walk clients through a briefing call to ensure we have all the information needed to provide you with a proposal. We’ll ask about objectives, target audience, key messages, thoughts on style, filming locations, deadline, intended use, and whether you need additional versions such as alternate languages, cutdowns, captions, or social media clips.
How long does it take to produce a video?
Every project is different so the timelines depend on the complexity of the production, but a simple video may take just a few weeks, while a larger production with scripting, multiple locations or animation may take longer. For each production, we create a schedule around key milestones such as concept approval, filming, rough cut, revisions, and final delivery so clients are aware of the timelines throughout the process. And we’re happy to say we have never, ever missed a deadline.
What is the video production process?
There are generally three stages to each production: pre-production, production, and post-production. Pre-production can include budgeting, planning, creative development, scripting, scheduling, location scouting, and shoot planning. Production is the filming stage and can include on-location filming, filming in studio or remote recording. Post-production includes editing, sound, colour grading, graphics, captions, client input and revisions, and final file delivery.
Can you help if we don’t know exactly what kind of video we need?
Absolutely! We love developing concepts to deliver on client objectives. By understanding your audience, message, goals, distribution channels, and desired outcome, we can recommend a creative direction that addresses your needs.
Do you write the script?
We love writing, so often we do write the script, or an outline if the video is an interview but we’re also happy to work with clients who come with a completed script or need help finessing a rough draft they’ve already created. For interviews, we can develop the discussion guide and interview questions to draw out the most compelling story from subjects in the most natural fashion.
How involved do we need to be?
Our role is to manage the production process, so the experience is organized and efficient. Our production plan ensures sufficient time for approvals at the outline and scripting stage as well as during post-production. Once we have a complete understanding of the objectives, audience, timelines and the deliverables, we will develop an outline and/or script with all of that in mind and present it for feedback. From there, we take care of all the details such as bookings, scheduling, locations, shoot planning, and ultimately filming. Some clients choose to be on location during the filming while others prefer to leave it to us. Once we get to post-production, client feedback is invaluable to ensure we’re delivering on every objective.
How many revisions are included?
We typically include two rounds of revisions for each video, however we understand that some clients may require additional rounds and we are happy to accommodate. The number of opportunities for revisions will be clearly defined in the project proposal.
What if someone is nervous on camera?
There’s a reason those on the Sugar Media Inc. team are behind the camera rather than in front of it! We also get nervous in front of the camera and many people do. Whether it’s an interview or presentation to camera, we create a comfortable filming environment with experienced and supportive crew. Our director is an excellent coach who works with each subject to draw out natural responses and help them feel prepared and confident. In fact, people often tell us that they were so much more comfortable than they expected to be. That’s one of the biggest compliments we can receive.
What formats will we receive?
Final files can be delivered in formats suitable for your website, social media, presentations, events, paid ads, internal communications, or broadcast needs. We can also create alternate versions such as vertical clips, square videos, short cutdowns, subtitled or captioned versions, and thumbnail images.
